Creating togetherness is about connecting families over a meal. This collection is a functional dining experience that reflects the togetherness I feel with my family, and which I want to incorporate in my work.

With the lockdown, a lot of us have realised how important it is to be close to our family, and having our loved ones around us. I wanted to take this concept of togetherness one step forward and turn something as mundane as eating a meal into an event. Something that makes everyone in the house want to come down to the dining table to have a meal, spend time together, and be present. The colour palette comprises soft pastels that are playful, interactive forms that spark joy when one uses them and tactile textures that are relaxing to the touch. I take inspiration from nature, earthy tones, and textures that calm me down, things that help me move towards a more hygge lifestyle. The collection is slip cast white earthenware (tableware) and porcelain (lighting), stained using oxides and body stains. As a maker, I like to share a little part of me in my work, stories that are important to me, intertwining my culture and contemporary making.
