"everything I create has a purpose and I hope every design and piece of work can find its home."
Meet Parneet
Hi, I’m Parneet, a ceramic artist, designer-maker, and founder of Matkewalli — a design-led studio exploring storytelling, materiality, sustainability, and everyday rituals through clay.
With a background in Design Crafts and contemporary ceramics, my practice moves between functional ware, sculptural objects, installation, and community-led making. I am deeply interested in how objects can hold memory, conversation, and shared experiences, often drawing inspiration from food, family, cultural traditions, and human connection.
Over the years, I have worked as a ceramic consultant, studio manager, and CAD lecturer, developing experience across design development, material experimentation, fabrication processes, and arts education. Alongside my independent practice, I continue to teach workshops and collaborate with communities through hands-on learning and collective making.
I am also part of the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship (SEAF) Cohort 12, where my practice continues to evolve through research, experimentation, and interdisciplinary exploration.
Through Matkewalli, I hope to create work that feels thoughtful, tactile, and emotionally connected — pieces that quietly become part of everyday life and shared moments.
